A One-of-a-kind Wedding Celebration in San Antonio

January 18, 2016

An unforgettable five-day wedding celebration delights guests and encapsulates an extraordinary couple.

We were honored to help a beloved couple and their guests enjoy a unique wedding celebration in San Antonio, Texas. Nine unforgettable events unfolded over five days that included cocktail parties, dinner receptions, luncheons, and excursions, all surrounding the coup de grace–the wedding itself. Each event captured and reflected the couple’s personalities and love for each other, as well as their touching devotion to family and friends.

Having had the pleasure of planning wonderful trips for the bride and groom for many years, we were thrilled to be given the opportunity to collaborate on this very special occasion. We love developing custom celebrations that amaze and excite guests, which is exactly what they were after. Our bride and groom wanted their festivities to be unique and memorable as well as comfortable, so we made sure every element of their affairs reflected these wishes. Providing their guests with a seamless experience was equally important and we worked methodically to make that happen. Every detail for each guest’s stay was impeccably orchestrated from the moment they stepped off the plane.

Friends, family, and other well-wishers were greeted at the airport and swiftly escorted to their pre-arranged accommodations at one of three hotels along San Antonio’s picturesque Riverwalk: Hotel Havana, Omni La Mansion Del Rio, and Mokara Hotel & Spa. Personalized welcome bags curated with local treats and handcrafted materials explaining what to expect for the weekend awaited guests upon arrival.

The celebration kicked off with an elegant cocktail reception at Ocho at Hotel Havana, a charming restaurant decked floor-to-ceiling in an abundance of red floral for this special evening.

Music provided by a local Cuban band, El Tiburon, put guests in a partying mood while they sipped Havana margaritas and sampled hors d’oeuvres inspired by local Texan cuisine, including Pollo Diablo and Patron Plata Ceviche on an Aji Amarillo Tostado.  Whisked up to dinner in river boats, guests marveled at the scenery and relished the perfect spring weather as the wedding flotillas sporting poles draped in colorful blue, green, and magenta ribbons glided along the water.

Arriving at Cured, located at the renewed and up & coming Pearl District, guests collected their personalized handmade, water-colored escort cards (also including fun facts about the evening) and were served signature “Cured” cocktails and lite bites including Miniature Muffalettas, Cabritos, and Boudin Balls as they mingled.

Upon sitting down to dinner, guests couldn’t miss passing Cured’s famous meat locker or noticing the rustic décor. Lining the windowsills were ornate floral arrangements, accented with candles, and sentimental vintage figurines while platters of charcuterie colored the tables. Flown in from New York City, The Smoke Rings, a 1920’s jazz band, performed while guests embarked on an amazing culinary experience, peppered with dancing and heartfelt speeches delivered by the couple’s loved ones.

The festivities continued with a lively after party at the iconic local bar, Tacoland, where Dale Watson and His Lone Stars performed a private honky tonk country concert. To take a break from dancing under the stars and equally beautiful, softly lit trees, guests were invited to enjoy late-night bites from the Tex Mex inspired taco truck, Teka Molino, serving its famous Puffy Tacos and more.

At the close of the evening, guests returned to their rooms to find a beautifully assembled bedside notecard with more information on what was in store for the next day’s festivities along with a box of worry dolls for sweet dreams from the bride and groom.

With this perfect ending to a magical start to the wedding weekend celebration, the couple’s determination to create a worry-free, unforgettable event for their loved ones was evident.

Stay tuned for more on this incredible celebration…
